(re) Presentation
Hi! I use this mainly as a tool for research in literature, critical theory and related matters. Specifically I'm interested in:the relationship between literary and political representation, memory and trauma/tic (holocaust/dictatorships) representation; quotation in subaltern discourse; new latin american literature, and the function of criticism.
Although, as this list shows, my main interest lies in representational theory (whatever that means in these days), I prefer to distance myself from the renowned postmodern musings that have dominated the area. Instead of coupling representation and interpretation together, I draw from a variety of theoretical perspectives, mainly from the "continental" branch of contemporary philosophy (Zizek, Rancière, Agamben and Badiou) in order to offer a political take on this issues. Other influences are Walter Benjamin for his analysis on quotation and mimesis; Sohn-Rethel and Paolo Virno for their analysis of labor and the general intellect, and a couple of classical authors from the Marxist tradition.
My main objective was to build a web site in which I could share the whereabouts of my research but, since my geek habilities have waned considerably, it is taking more time than what I've originally expected (which is also the reason of why you might sparsely find something about web development among my things). In the meantime you can explore here the individual pages that are going to conform the nerd multimedia experience that I'm planing to code!
Fell free to drop me a line about anything related to any of the issues I've mentioned.
